Guide for Authors

Journal of Health Care Research (JHCR) has an open-access website. The journal publishes original research, review articles, original case reports, case studies, and systematic review.

Publishing in the journal should follow these guidelines: 

  1. English is the primary language for publishing.
  2. The research must not be previously published or accepted for publication.
  3. The researcher follows the status of his article through the online tracking system.

Manuscript preparation:

Formatting guidelines

Times New Roman, 12-point font, double spaced throughout, one-inch margins on all sides except left side 1.5 inch, beginning of each paragraph indented 5-7 characters.

Title (less than 15 words):

Authors should not include numbers, acronyms, abbreviations or punctuation in the title. The title must be clear, concise and grammatically correct.

Authors’ names and affiliations:

This should include the full author names, institutional addresses (Department, Institute, Country), and email addresses for all authors. The corresponding author should also be indicated. ORCID can added if present.

Abstract:

The abstract should be no more than 250 words and should be consisted of a brief introduction, main findings of the study and conclusions drawn from the study.

Don’t include references, headings, non-standard abbreviations and any citations.

Keywords:

Authors should provide 5-8 keywords.

Introduction:

Authors should provide a brief background of the study. Authors should incorporate recent researches not older than ten years, unless absolutely necessary). Then the hypothesis and the significance of the study.

Methods:

Methods section should include the following

  • The aim, design and setting of the study
  • The participants characteristics.
  • A clear description of all processes, interventions and comparisons.
  • The type of statistical analysis used, including a power calculation if appropriate.

Results

This section should include the findings of the study including, if appropriate, results of statistical analysis which must be included either in the text or as tables and figures.

Tables:

Tables must be typed on separate pages (typed double-spaced) and should follow the discussion. All tables must be simple, numbered consecutively and each must have a brief heading (in Latin numbers) describing its contents. Tables must be in order when referred to as the main text in order.

Write a table’s caption above the table’s body.

Figure and Photographs:

Figures must be 2D black and white with a clear background. All figures need to be numbered in the same sequence in the text. Photographs must be high-contrast, glossy or colorless when not needed. Write a figure’s description below the figure body. E.g. Figure 1. (Title)

 

Discussion:

This section should include the discussion of the findings in context of existing research.

Conclusions:

This should provide clearly the conclusion and the importance and relevance of the study.

List of Abbreviations:

Define abbreviations at the first use in the text, then a list of abbreviations should be provided.

References:

A-List of references, double-spaced in alphabetical order. Preprint will not be accepted as references. (American Psychological Association) APA  7th edition will be used.

Ethics approval and consent to participate:

Studies involving human participants, human data or human tissue must include ethics approval statement which incorporates the name of ethical committee that approved the study and the committee’s reference number if appropriate)

 

Consent for publication:

If the manuscript contains personal data including images or videos, consent for publication must be obtained from that person. In case of children, you can obtain consent from their parent or legal guardian. Furthermore, all presentations of case reports must have consent for publication.

Competing interests:

All financial and non-financial competing interests must be declared in this section. If you do not have any competing interests, please state "The authors declare that they have no competing interests" in this section.

Funding:

All sources of funding for the research reported should be declared.

Authors' contributions:

The contributions of each author to the manuscript should be specified in this section.

Acknowledgements:

Please acknowledge anyone who contributed to the article who does not meet the criteria for authorship including anyone who provided professional writing services or materials. If there is no one to acknowledge, please write "Not applicable" in this section.
